On Friday I received my contributor’s copy of the anthology a short story of mine is in. Though I’ve published before in magazines and newspapers, this is the first time something of mine has appeared in book form and that feels extra valuable. It’s from a small publisher in the UK and is of the horror/speculative fiction variety. I had sent it out a few times before it was accepted and it was handily rejected each time, though twice I recall with nice comments. I stuck with this story because I have always personally liked it and thought it was worthy of finding a home. I’m glad it did.
